OMG – It’s Beta.

After too many years of clunky HTML and manual updates, Zoo Street finally upgraded it’s web site.  Besides looking better, the site now includes 5 new functions:

1. Comment on comics and posts
2. Tag a comic to continue from where you last read
3. Join the Zoo Street Facebook group
4. Subscribe to the RSS feed (It’s free)
5. Search through the archives visually

Check back for more fun treats to come.

Since this is a beta site, I encourage you to poke around and go to some pages you typically do not visit. If you find any errors or things that just don’t seem quiet right, shoot me an email. I’ll see what I can do.  If you have any ideas or requests to make Zoo Street more awesome, let me know.

Cheers,

Disappear Reappear And So On…

I plan to continue updating Zoo Street as much as I can. If I miss a scheduled posting pardon my absence, I am heavily involved in my local chapter of AIGA. We are putting together our first design awards show in the past three years. It’s going to be big. This past weekend we inventoried all of the entries. We received nearly 300. We are excited the judging and the show on Dec. 5. There is so much more to do. For more information please visit. Keep checking in. I will update as often as possible.

Zoo Year Resolution: 2010

2010 is an important year. It means a new decade, a new year and a new slew of comics. Starting March 1, 2010, I plan to update-update-update and some how get characters back to the zoo, a zoo… any zoo.

Cheers,

…And the plot thickens

Well… not the plot, but the website. The Character’s page is live. Check it out and find out more about the main characters. More characters will join them later. If there is any information you’re curious about, write a comment or shoot me an email and I could add it.

The system was down

If you visited the site this Sunday evening, it may have appeared different than usual. I tinkered with the backend and broke it for a few hours. After becoming dejected, my girlfriend saved the day with her awesome trouble-shooting skills. Everything was fixed in 45 minutes or less. Keep enjoying Zoo Street.

Thanks,

Changing formats

Starting next Monday, June 7, I will change the writing format of Zoo Street. The comics will be written in a 3-act story structure, or my best attempt at one. All stories will start with a stylized title page, then continue to a story of no more than approximately 24 comics and wrap up with a return message and a fake commercial.

The comics you know and love will remain in a 3-panel gag style comic, but the story arcs will be plot driven. No more dragging things out and seemingly never-ending sagas that take a year to conclude, that got out of hand. The new format provides good quick punches.

It’s better this way. Trust me. This is how the pros do it.

Cheers,

Thanks to the curious

Yesterday, Tuesday, August 23, Lion announced that he purchased the URL morecandythanyou.com, to boast about his candy supply. Thank you to those of you that were curious to see if the URL was real and visited. I hope you were not disappointed or confused, as I would be, when the site redirected you back to the Zoo Street home page. I am bit behind on production. I moved about a month ago and I was out of town last weekend. I updated the site last night and plan to add more goodies in the coming weeks.
